Calgary Roller Hockey League
We have been around for over 30 years. We are members of the Alberta Minor Roller Hockey Association and Roller Hockey Canada.
Our main goal is to provide a safe place for kids and adults to play the game of inline hockey. We also will not turn away any child who wants to play the game. We have allowed players to play for free as well as provided equipment for them to play in.
Before Covid-19, we held special events to try and raise money for KidSport and we have tried to help this organization whenever we could. Last season, any player that had applied to KidSport for funding, we cut our registration fees in half so they would be able to help more kids play sports.
This season we have reached out to Girls Hockey Calgary and the Southern Alberta Women’s Hockey Association to create female roller hockey leagues. Our goal is to diversify the sport, so that more females can participate in a safe and inclusive space. In the past, the females in our league have played with the boys/men, so it would be great to create a league that is all their own. If we are successful, then this would be one of the first female roller hockey leagues in Canada.
We are one of the only leagues that will allow kids to play with their friends on teams of their choice. We want the kids to have fun and enjoy spending time with their friends, who they might not get to play with during the hockey season or during other sports.
